SMAMIO Signs Partnership with Marshall Cavendish Education Singapore for IELTS Mock Up Test Program

Gresik — SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik (Smamio) officially established a partnership with Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) Singapore in the IELTS Mock Up Test program. The signing of the partnership was held on Friday (13/3/2026) at HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Gubeng Surabaya, in conjunction with the Education Seminar organized by the Majelis Dikdasmen and PNF PWM East Java.

This partnership is one of Smamio's strategic steps in improving the quality of English learning and preparing students to face international competency standards. Through the IELTS Mock Up Test program, students will gain experience simulating the IELTS test designed to be close to the actual international exam standards.

The educational seminar was also attended by the Principal of Smamio, Ulyatun Nikmah, M.Pd, along with the Vice Principal for Curriculum Dr. Anis Shofatun, SSi MPd. The presence of both is part of Smamio's commitment to strengthening networks and improving the quality of education through academic forums and strategic collaborations.

The Principal of Smamio Ulyatun Nikmah, M.Pd, said that this collaboration is a real step for the school in preparing students to face the challenges of global education. "This collaboration with Marshall Cavendish Education is part of Smamio's efforts to provide international standard learning. Through the IELTS Mock Up Test program, we want to provide students with experience in the international evaluation system so that they are better prepared to face global challenges," he said.

He also added that this program is part of the school's preparation for the opening of the International Class in the new 2026-2027 academic year. "Smamio continues to strive to improve the quality of learning, especially in strengthening English language competency. The hope is that students will not only excel academically, but also have global insight and the confidence to compete at the international level," he added.

The educational seminar, which is part of a series of activities, was attended by various school principals, education managers, and education practitioners from various regions in East Java. This momentum became a space for discussion and sharing ideas in an effort to improve the quality of education, especially in the Muhammadiyah school environment. The educational seminar took the theme Our Journey Together to Effective Learning: AI, Leadership and Teacher Development by presenting Mrs. Joy Tan from Singapore. Also present were the Chairperson of the Dikdasmen and PNF PWM East Java Council with his team Prof. Dr. Khazin MSi (Chairperson), Dr. Eko Hardiansyah SPsi MPsi Prof. Dr. Isa Ansori MSi and Dr. Raharjo MSi.

Through collaboration with Marshall Cavendish Education, Smamio is optimistic that it can present learning innovations that are of higher quality and international standards. The SMAMIO family held a farewell and retirement event for Al Islam teacher, Dra. Luluk Dyah Hermiati, who has devoted herself to educating and guiding students with full sincerity. The event began with the delivery of farewell words from the Principal of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik, Ulyatun Nikmah, M.Pd. Entering the session In essence, M. Thoha Mahsun started the study by inviting participants to reinterpret the events of the Hijrah of Rasulullah SAW. He emphasized that hijrah is not just a move from Mecca to Medina, but is a major transformation that gives birth to changes in civilization, mental revolution, and character changes towards a better person. In his material he said: "When we commemorate the event of the Hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, we are not just remembering the physical traces of the journey from Mecca to Medina. More than that, hijrah is a symbol of the transformation of civilization and mental revolution, including in the world of work ethic." He then linked the meaning of hijrah with professional life in the educational environment. The spirit of hijrah, according to him, should be an inspiration for all teachers and education personnel to continue to improve the quality of work. "In the context of today's work world, the spirit of hijrah invites us to migrate from a lazy work culture to a productive one, from a treacherous one to a trustworthy one, and from simply working to a progressive individual." He explained that there are three main values that must become the work culture of every Muhammadiyah person. First, Trustworthiness. Trustworthiness means carrying out every task with full responsibility, honesty, and professionalism. An educator is not only responsible for imparting knowledge, but also being a role model in morals and integrity. Second, Loyal. Loyalty is demonstrated through commitment to the school's vision and mission, supporting each other, and maintaining the institution's good name by providing the best service. Third, Progress. The spirit of progress invites all teachers and employees to continue learning, innovating, being open to change, and improving competencies in order to be able to answer the challenges of education that continue to develop. The study took place with full solemnity. All participants followed the presentation of the material enthusiastically and listened to every message delivered as provisions in carrying out their daily tasks. Through this Mutiara Hati activity, it is hoped that all teachers and employees of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik will be increasingly motivated to make the spirit of hijrah a real work culture. Jafni Abdul Aziz Siregar Qualifies for the 2026 National Sports Week (O2SN) Swimming Competition, SMAMIO GKB Gresik Achieves Proud Achievement

Gresik – Another proud achievement was achieved by the extended family of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 (SMAMIO) GKB Gresik. One of its best students, Jafni Abdul Aziz Siregar, a grade XI-1 student, managed to make history by qualifying from the East Java Provincial stage to the National level in the 2026 National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN) in the swimming sport. This success is clear evidence that hard work, discipline, and an unyielding spirit will always find their way to achievement. In the midst of fierce competition followed by the best athletes from all over East Java, Jafni was able to show his best abilities until he managed to secure a ticket to the national stage.
