Public Relations

Gresik - Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik High School (Smamio) held another Qur'an Day activity for 11th grade students on Saturday (9/5/2026). The activity, which took place from 08.00 to 10.00 WIB, was held in a number of students' homes and at the Al Mizan Mosque with an atmosphere full of solemnity and togetherness.
Quran Day is one of the school's spiritual development programs that aims to foster students' love for the Quran while building a religious culture in the school environment. In its implementation, students are divided into six groups with different juz reading targets. Group 1 targets juz 19, group 2 juz 20, group 3 juz 21, group 4 juz 22, group 5 juz 23, and group 6 juz 24.
Activities were carried out simultaneously at several points. Abu Bakar's group consisting of students from grades XI 1 and XI 4 carried out activities at Ezzar Mutiara Adi Pawita's house in the PPS area. Meanwhile, Umar's group from grades XI 2 and XI 5 carried out activities at Jindan's house in the Banjarsari area, Suci, Manyar.
In another location, Ali's group from grades XI 3 and XI 6 held a Qur'an Day at Daffa's house in the Banjarsari area, Manyar. Meanwhile, the girls' groups such as Khodijah and Aisyah also carried out similar activities at the students' homes with a warm and family atmosphere.
Not only filled with reading the Quran together, the Quran Day activity also presented murajaah, joint prayers, and student sermons which became a means of strengthening Islamic understanding. The religious atmosphere was felt when the students read the holy verses of the Qur'an in tartil and listened to each other.
The Deputy Principal of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik for ISMUBA (Al-Islam, Muhammadiyah, and Arabic), Ustadz Hudzaifaturrrohman, S.Th.I, said that the Quran Day activity was part of the school's efforts to shape the religious character of students.
"This activity is the school's effort to create students who are close to the Qur'an. In addition, this activity is also a means of friendship and mutual visits between students so that their brotherhood and togetherness can be even closer," he said.
A similar opinion was also expressed by the Coordinator of Tahfidz, Tarjim, and Tahsin Smamio, Ustadz Aditama, M.Ag. He explained that Quran Day is a routine activity that continues to be developed by the school as a means of getting students used to reading the Quran.
"Quran Day is not just an activity of reading the Quran together, but also an effort to improve students' reading of the Quran. With activities like this, students can listen to each other and improve their tajweed and makharijul huruf," he explained.
Through this activity, students are expected to be able to make the Quran a guide for life while building positive habits to always interact with the holy book in everyday life. The concept of implementation at students' homes is also considered capable of strengthening relationships between students and providing a more intimate and down-to-earth learning atmosphere.
Quran Day is one form of Smamio's commitment to providing education that is not only academically oriented, but also emphasizes the formation of students' religious and spiritual character in a sustainable manner.
