Public Relations

Gresik — In an effort to strengthen students' spiritual character amidst the challenges of the modern era, Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik High School once again held a Qur'an Day activity on Saturday (11/4/2026). This activity is one of the school's flagship programs in instilling a love for the Qur'an while building a religious culture in the student environment.
This Qur'an Day activity was carried out differently than usual. Not only did it take place in the school environment, the activity was also held in rotation at the students' homes. This is done to create a warmer, more intimate atmosphere, and strengthen the values of togetherness and Islamic brotherhood among the participants.
Coordinator of Tahsin, Tahfidz, and Tarjim as well as Mudir, Aditama, S.Pd.I., M.Ag said that the Qur'an Day activity has a very important meaning in the current conditions, especially for the younger generation.
"Qur'an Day is held as a momentum to remind us of the importance of reading the Qur'an as the foundation of the civilization curriculum, making it a habit to remind each other, encourage each other in an era where many are reluctant to read the Qur'an, especially teenagers," he said.
According to him, the rapid development of technology brings a significant impact on the lifestyle of the younger generation. Many teenagers are more interested in digital activities than reading the Qur'an. Therefore, Qur'an Day is present as a solution to rebuild students' closeness to the holy book of Muslims.
In its implementation, this activity is filled with various activities such as reading the Qur'an together, improving reading (tahsin), memorizing verses (tahfidz), to understanding the meaning of verses (tarjim). The atmosphere created is also full of the spirit of togetherness, where students support and motivate each other.
Aditama also added that the implementation of Qur'an Day at students' homes has many positive goals to be achieved. In addition to strengthening relationships between students, this activity is also an effective means of da'wah in grounding the Qur'an.
"Held Qur'an Day at students' homes for many purposes, including encouraging each other, creating a culture of love for reading the Qur'an, creating a harmonious environment, visiting friends' homes, da'wah to ground the Qur'an, so that all members of the community love the Qur'an," he concluded.
This activity received a warm welcome from the students. They felt more comfortable and motivated to participate in Qur'an Day because the atmosphere was relaxed but still full of meaning. The interactions that take place outside the formal school environment also bring them closer to each other.
One of the students participating in Qur'an Day admitted that this activity provided a different experience. In addition to learning to read the Qur'an, they were also able to understand the meaning of the verses more deeply and felt a strong sense of togetherness with their friends.
Not only students, parents also expressed their appreciation for this activity. By holding Qur'an Day at home, they could directly witness the positive activities of their children. In fact, quite a few parents also felt the spiritual impact of this activity.
The home environment that is usually used for daily activities has now transformed into a place filled with the recitation of the holy verses of the Qur'an. This creates a more religious atmosphere and brings its own blessings to the host family.
The Qur'an Day program is also part of Smamio Gresik's commitment to forming a Qur'anic generation. The school does not only focus on academic achievement, but also on the formation of character and spirituality of students.
By making the Qur'an the foundation of the civilization curriculum, it is hoped that students will be able to make the values of the Qur'an a guideline in their daily lives. This is important in forming a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also has noble morals.
In the future, Qur'an Day activities are expected to continue to grow and reach more students. In fact, it is possible that this activity can be an inspiration for other schools to hold similar programs.
Through Qur'an Day, SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik shows that education based on the values of the Qur'an remains relevant and important in the modern era. With a creative and fun approach, love for the Qur'an can be instilled from an early age and become part of the lives of the younger generation.
