Muhammadiyah 10 High School Students in GKB Gresik Win 2 Champion Categories at the 2026 Korea Youth Summit

Korea - The expected achievement was shared again by the students of Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik High School (Smamio) on the international stage. Two Smamio students won 2 championships, namely 2nd place in the Best Idea Innovation and Best Group categories at the 2026 Korea Youth Summit held in Seoul, South Korea, on February 2–5, 2026.
The 2026 Korea Youth Summit carries the theme “Empowering Youth through Cultural Synergy”, which brings together students from various countries to collaborate, innovate, and gather ideas in facing global challenges.
Two Smamio students who succeeded in bringing honor to the school and Indonesia are Athiira Calista Aulia (X.3) and Rahminiyan Rengganis (XI.1). Through innovative ideas and mature presentations, both were able to compete with participants from various countries and won prestigious awards.
This success is inseparable from the intensive preparation process for three months which was systematically arranged in eight weeks. The preparation stage began with a mentoring session, followed by an introduction of the project to the public through the Instagram account @bridgeyourhope.
After that, the students prepared the needs for activities at the orphanage, participated in follow-up mentoring, prepared budget planning, discussed with partnership partners, and prepared presentation slides. In the final week, they made a direct visit to an orphanage as part of the project implementation.
Smamio International Program Coordinator, Fitriyatus Sa'adah, M.Pd, expressed her hope that the students' participation in the Korea Youth Summit would have a long-term impact.
“I hope that the participation of Smamio students in the Korea Youth Summit can strengthen the cooperation between our school and institutions in Korea, as well as open up opportunities for student exchanges and collaborative projects in the future. future,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMA Muhammadiyah 10 GKB Gresik, Ulyatun Nikmah, M.Pd, expressed her pride in the achievements.
“The brilliant achievements of Smamio students at the 2026 Korea Youth Summit are a source of extraordinary pride. This success is clear evidence that Smamio is capable of producing a young generation that is globally competitive,” he said.
Furthermore, he added that this ability is expected to be an inspiration for all students.
“The second child not only brings honor to the school, but also brings Indonesia to prestigious international forums. Hopefully, this achievement will inspire all Smamio students to continue learning, dare to step onto the world stage, and commit to being outstanding students, with noble character, and ready to become future leaders. ahead.”
