Gresik — The PKDA (Pesantren Kilat Darul Arqam) activity at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 (Smamio) GKB Gresik officially began on Monday, March 23, 2026 with a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere. This activity is a momentum for students' spiritual development in strengthening their understanding of Islam and forming noble characters.
The series of activities began with a group murajaah. The recitation of the holy verses of the Qur'an echoed throughout the school environment, creating a calm and soothing atmosphere. The students followed the activities orderly under the guidance of the ustadz and ustadzah.
Next, students received material about thaharah. In this session, the importance of maintaining cleanliness and purity as part of faith is explained. The material is delivered interactively so that students can understand the difference between najis and hadas as well as the correct procedures for purification according to sharia guidance.
Not only theory, the activity is also filled with the practice of funeral prayers. Students are guided to understand the pillars, requirements, and readings in carrying out funeral prayers. Practice is carried out directly so that students truly understand the procedures.
In closing, students take part in practical learning on corpse care, starting from bathing procedures to shrouding. This material is provided as a provision of knowledge about fardhu kifayah which will be needed in social life.
The chairman of the PKDA committee, Bagus Rifani, S. Pd., said that this activity was designed not only to broaden insight, but also to train students' readiness in carrying out their obligations as Muslims.
"We want Smamio students to understand that religious knowledge is not only to be known, but also to be practiced. Materials such as thaharah and corpse care are important provisions in real life," he said.
Reytha Aura Ayu, a student participating in PKDA class X2 also conveyed her impressions and messages.
"The activity was very useful and added new experiences for us. The practice of funeral prayers and corpse care made us understand more and feel less afraid. Hopefully, activities like this can continue to be held every year," he said.
Through this PKDA activity, Smamio hopes to form a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also strong in faith, worship, and social concern. The activity went smoothly and was full of enthusiasm from all participants.
